SparkPrep (“we”, “us”, or “our”) develops educational preparation software for industrial electrical trade certification. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and protected when you use the SparkPrep (442A Exam Prep) mobile application and website.
1. Information We Collect
A. Account & Authentication Information
When you create an account or sign in via email or Google Sign-In:
Unique User Identifier: A persistent Supabase user ID (UUID) used to associate your study records and purchase entitlements across sessions.
Email Address: Your email address for account authentication, password recovery, and essential transactional notices.
Profile Information: Optional display name and profile picture provided by your Google account for in-app personalization.
B. Financial & Purchase Information
When you purchase or upgrade access (e.g., Study or Exam Ready tier):
Transaction Details: Purchased product identifier, transaction timestamp, store order ID (e.g., Google Play GPA order number), and entitlement status.
Payment Instruments: All payment transactions are handled directly through Google Play Billing. We never collect, process, or store credit card, debit card, or financial institution account numbers.
C. App Interactions & Study Activity
Quiz Answers & Scores: Selected answers, completion timestamps, and score percentages are recorded to build your personal progress dashboard and identify weak knowledge areas.
Flagged Questions: Questions you flag or mark for review are synchronized so you can drill difficult topics.
2. Third-Party Service Providers
We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal data. We utilize trusted third-party service providers solely to fulfill operational services necessary to run the application:
RevenueCat, Inc. (Subscription & In-App Billing Infrastructure)
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchase receipts, entitlement verification, and subscription lifecycle events.
Data processed: Anonymous app user ID (Supabase UUID) and Google Play transaction receipts.
Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your device, Supabase, RevenueCat, and Google servers is encrypted using modern Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS).
Data Retention: Account data and study history are stored for the lifetime of your account. Entitlement records are retained for transaction auditing and customer support.
4. Your Rights: Deletion & Access
You have full ownership and control over your information:
In-App Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account, answers, and study history at any time from within the app: navigate to Settings → Account → Delete Account. All user records will be deleted immediately from our database.
Email Request: You may also request deletion or a copy of your stored data by contacting us at privacy@sparkprep.ca.
5. Children’s Privacy
SparkPrep is an occupational licensing study tool designed for adult trade apprentices and journeypersons. The app does not knowingly solicit or collect information from children under the age of 13.
