1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use SparkPrep (“we”, “us”, “our”): the website at sparkprep.ca and the SparkPrep Android app. By creating an account, buying a plan or using SparkPrep, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use SparkPrep.
2. What SparkPrep is
- SparkPrep is an independent study tool for the 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician and 442A Industrial Electrician exams. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Red Seal Program, Skilled Trades Ontario or any government.
- Our questions are written to cover the same topics and sections as the exam. They are not the real exam questions, which are confidential.
- SparkPrep helps you prepare. It does not guarantee that you will pass any exam.
3. Your account
- Use a real email address that you can receive mail at, and keep your password private.
- An account is for one person. Don't share your sign-in or let others use your plan.
- If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent's or guardian's permission to buy a plan.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has used it, email us.
4. Plans and payment
- SparkPrep has a free plan and paid plans (Study and Exam Ready), each a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Prices are shown in Canadian dollars before you buy.
- “Lifetime access” means access to your plan for as long as SparkPrep offers the service, with no renewal fees.
- Purchases on sparkprep.ca are processed by our payment providers. Purchases in the Android app are processed by Google Play and are also subject to Google Play's terms.
- Your plan works wherever you sign in with the same SparkPrep account.
5. Refunds
Refunds follow our Refund Policy. In short: website purchases are final, except duplicate charges or a technical problem on our side that we can't fix. Google Play purchases follow Google Play's refund policy.
6. Fair use
Your plan is for your own personal study. You agree not to:
- copy, publish, share, sell or post our questions, answers, explanations or drawings, in whole or in part (sharing a link to sparkprep.ca is welcome);
- use bots, scripts or other automated tools to read, download or collect content;
- get around our limits or security, or access accounts or data that aren't yours;
- use SparkPrep in a way that breaks the law or harms other users or the service.
7. Our content
The questions, explanations, drawings, software and design of SparkPrep belong to us or are used with permission. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use them for your own study while your account is in good standing. Nothing in these terms gives you ownership of our content.
8. Accuracy
We review our questions and explanations carefully, but mistakes can happen and codes and standards change. SparkPrep is a study aid, not a replacement for the Canadian Electrical Code, your training or official exam information. If you spot an error, please report it from the question in the app or email us.
9. Changes to the service
- We may add, update or remove questions and features to keep SparkPrep accurate and working well.
- We aim to keep SparkPrep available at all times, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example by sharing or copying content. Where reasonable, we will tell you first.
10. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete Account) or as described on our delete your account page. Deleting your account removes your study history and your access to any plan you bought, and can't be undone.
11. Limits on our responsibility
To the extent the law allows, SparkPrep is provided “as is”, and we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as exam fees, lost wages or lost opportunities. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for SparkPrep in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will let account holders know before it takes effect. Using SparkPrep after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
